Allen’s focus areas include field systems (flow, level, pressure, temperature, gas detection) and wireless networks.  In addition, he covers plant asset management and SCADA systems.  Allen recently completed an extensive end user study on energy management practices, and is the author of the report “Automation Expenditures in Upstream Oil & Gas”.

Prior to joining ARC, Allen was at Blackstone Research Associates, where he worked on several primary research projects that examined office technology issues.  In addition to research, Allen also co-edited and wrote for Blackstone's monthly technology newsletter, the Color Business Report.

Allen graduated from the University of Rhode Island, and has an MBA and a BA in studio art.
