Senior Analyst PLM & Discrete Manufacturing 
Dick’s responsibilities at ARC include directing the research and consulting in the areas of PLM, Factory Floor Architecture, Manufacturing Enterprise Architecture, and Collaborative Production Management Systems. Dick provides technical consulting services for Discrete Manufacturing end users in the Aerospace, Automotive and other industrial verticals.

 
Dick’s focus areas include PLM, Digital Manufacturing, Collaborative Production Manage-ment, Factory Floor Architecture, Manufacturing Enterprise Architecture, Discrete Automation PC-based Control, and Controls Integration.

Dick brings over 30 years of direct experience in the areas of Manufacturing Engineering, N/C Programming, Controls Systems Integration, Automated Assembly Systems, Embedded Systems, Software Development, and Technical Project Management.
 
Prior to joining ARC, Dick was with the Boeing Company for over 28 years. At the Commercial Airplane Group he was responsible for the definition and implementation of a major Factory Computing Architecture initiative for the Everett Division Factory (747,767,777).  Prior to this assignment, Dick was Project Manager (controls integration) for several large-scale automated assembly projects in the Everett Factory. Dick joined the Boeing Company as a Manufacturing Engineer.  He spent over ten years as an N/C programmer in the area of multi-axis machine tools and advanced parametric CAD/CAM systems.  He later moved to controls systems integration, robotics, and tool-path simulation.  Part of this time was spent with Boeing Military and Space Systems where he developed advanced composite tape laying contour algorithms for the B-2 Stealth Bomber program.

Dick holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kansas and a BS in Computer Science from Seattle Pacific University.  He also holds a certificate in Client/Server Project Management from the University of Washington (Seattle).
