Houghton’s focus areas include Enterprise Asset Management, IT Service Management, Product Service Management, Software Development, Application Engineering, Service Support, and Network Management.
Houghton brings over 30 years of automation, information technology, and enterprise integration experience. Prior to ARC, Houghton’s accomplishments included defining and marketing manufacturing industry standards for Dynamic Asset Optimization, Electronic Document Management and Intelligent Enterprise Automation as Marketing Manager of IT at the Foxboro division of Invensys. He shares a patent for his innovative development efforts on Dynamic Maintenance Management while with the Foxboro Company. He received industry recognition for early commercialization of Internet protocols and development of remote online support capabilities.
Houghton also developed and managed portions of a worldwide corporate Open Systems Network that received many prestigious industry accomplishment awards. He has presented and published related technical articles on the early commercial usage of TCP/IP networks and integrated application solutions. His earlier career positions include Systems Analyst, Systems Programmer, and Applications Engineer, where he developed, implemented and supported multi-million dollar process automation systems. Prior to Foxboro, Houghton worked in quality control at Xerox Corporation and in semiconductor research at General Electric.
Houghton is a graduate of the University of Rochester with a Bachelor’s degree in Math and Chemistry.
