Yanagimoto-san's previous experience includes 30 years with Tonen Oil
Refinery Company (an ExxonMobil family). At Tonen his responsibilities
included design improvement and project expansion of refinery plants, creation
of catalyst active model of catalytic reformer, automation control
application design and operation in the HQ Kawasaki Plant, replacement of
process computers in Tonen and Tonen Chemicals by ACS (IBM) & CENTUM
(Yokogawa DCS), and information system business development projects.
In 1985 he moved to System Plaza, a new spin-off from Tonen for information
business, where his responsibilities included sales engineering, new product and
business development including partnering contracts, and project management.
Some of the projects he managed included a financial and shipment management
system for a semiconductor device sales company, a replacement project of a
Tonen off-site system, and production plan and asset management for a cement
In June 2001, he was promoted to Director of System Plaza, Plant Operation
Management. In April 2003 he moved to Yokogawa Electric as GM of Information
Solution Center, Information System Business Division, where he managed the
information solution business for process industries in Yokogawa. In May 2005
he moved to OSIsoft to establish OSIsoft Japan.
