AVEVA E3D Insight Mobile App Launched

Keywords: Mobile, Virtual Plant Design, Collaborative Platform, Digital Asset.

AVEVA recently briefed ARC Advisory Group on its new AVEVA E3D Insight app, a gesture-driven, Windows 8.1 application that broadens the company's Future of Plant Design initiative. AVEVA E3D Insight, AVEVA's first mobile app, provides access to the live design model from AVEVA Everything3D (AVEVA E3D), the company's virtual plant design environment. This collaborative app gives all stakeholders a voice in project design and review.

Projects in the power and process industries have become increasingly complex, involving multiple global stakeholders. With AVEVA E3D Insight's Visualise, Inspect, Comment, and Approve features, the review process is not permanently tethered to the office. AVEVA has designed the app to streamline and remove delays in the review and feedback process, with a highly collaborative platform involving both project team members and owner operators. The app's "inspection" feature goes beyond seeing and confirming a design. This enables users to have direct dialogue, which is stored as threaded conversations with members of the project design team.

AVEVA E3D Insight leverages the digital asset from E3D, empowering owner operators and EPCs through easy access to engineering information on a collaborative mobile application. ARC believes that owner operators equipped with mobile applications such as this will enjoy a competitive advantage over those not using the latest technologies. This is true across all stakeholders, both internal and external to the organization.

The launch of its AVEVA E3D Insight application helps the company demonstrate its focus on faster and more efficient project delivery. AVEVA must remain dedicated to technology innovation that provides a platform for success. The company has articulated a philosophy of continued support for PDMS users and hopes that the advantages of the new AVEVA E3D platform will provide a clear case for transition.

ARC believes that the continued development of applications leveraging AVEVA E3D will create a compelling case for owner-operations and EPCs to transition to next-generation plant design environments. The ease of collaboration using this mobile platform highlights the company's initiative to support lean project execution.
