Rockwell Automation and industrial security software provider Claroty announced a partnership to combine their security products and services into future, packaged security offerings. This partnership is designed to address known industrial security weaknesses, which are increasingly turning into actual attacks, causing producers around the globe to search for more robust solutions to help protect operations.
After a competitive review process, Rockwell Automation selected Claroty for the company’s anomaly-detection software purpose built for industrial network security. The software creates an inventory of an end user’s industrial network assets, monitors traffic between those assets, and analyzes communications. Anomalies are reported to plant and security personnel with insights to help enable investigation, response and recovery.
According to Rockwell Automation, a key characteristic of the Claroty software is its ability to explore a deep level of industrial network protocols without adversely impacting the system. This enables end users to identify a range of anomalies while protecting complex and sensitive industrial networks. Traditional IT security software can often use active queries and require a footprint on the network, which can disrupt operations. However, the Claroty platform uses a passive-monitoring approach to safely inspect traffic to minimize the risk of disruption.
Additionally, Claroty has joined the Rockwell Automation PartnerNetwork Encompass program. The Encompass Partner program is a product reference program that helps customers locate products that solve application challenges. These products help to complement, enhance and extend Rockwell Automation solutions.
