A consequence of digitalization is that more and more providers of cloud services and IIoT platforms are appearing on the market. So far, automation suppliers have been the first movers. But with the convergence of OT and IT, other players such as IT providers, machinery OEMs, or sensor suppliers are now developing or offering their own cloud services or IIoT platforms. This workshop will address the question of how many platforms the industry really needs and how many are likely to be around in five years.
