Curtis is a registered professional engineer in the State of Washington and has 36 years of experience in the electric and gas utility industry; 6 years in substation design; 18 years in GIS, outage management, asset management, advanced metering systems including meter data management systems, and engineering modeling; and 12 years in research and development with a focus on grid edge intelligence and recently smart city and shared energy economy initiatives. He was awarded the title of "Fellow" by Avista and is currently responsible for applied R&D and innovation.
