October 25-26, 2017 - Singapore
Following a successful collaboration in 2016, ARC Advisory Group is pleased to partner once again with Clarion Events to co-present Asian Downstream Summit 2017, which takes place in Singapore, October 25-26, at the Marina Bay Sands Expo & Convention Centre.
Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, Asian Downstream Summit is the region’s largest conference and exhibition dedicated to the downstream oil & gas sector and an anchor event of Singapore International Energy Week, the annual gathering of energy companies, policymakers, and solution providers within the global energy space.
With the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) moving into the mainstream, Asian Downstream Summit 2017 will explore how the latest digital technologies are transforming refinery and petrochemical operations and delivering major improvements in process efficiency, plant uptime, and asset integrity and performance.
As co-presenter of Asian Downstream Summit 2017, ARC Advisory Group brings to the event deep industry knowledge and thought leadership on the latest technologies that are highly advantageous and relevant to the downstream industries, as well as extensive experience gained from consulting engagements with leading oil & gas companies around the world.
This year, aside from expert advice on the conference program and regular pre-event distribution of white papers to the delegate database, ARC’s involvement includes on-stage presentations, session chairing, and panel moderation and participation.

Industry in Transition: Realizing the Benefits of the Digital Downstream
The downstream business sector is revisiting business processes and technology approaches as competitors and partners start to employ “digitalized” business processes and exploit the increasing convergence between operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) on the plant floor.
Meanwhile, trusted technology vendors are moving from Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) concepts to real IIoT products, solutions and services, and governments around the world are actively supporting smart manufacturing and digital transformation initiatives.
Emerging business models allow refining and petrochemical companies to rethink, or even outsource, asset management. And intelligently connected products, along with network communications, software, and analytics, now enable manufacturers to improve uptime and optimize operating performance.
The following are among those from ARC Advisory Group participating in Asian Downstream Summit 2017.
Peter researches and consults on emerging technologies and practices, and the convergence of IT with process automation and industrial IoT. He brings more than 25 years of professional experience in process control, advanced manufacturing applications, and information technology in the downstream oil refining industry. Before ARC, he served as the Manager of Automation and IT at Irving Oil which operates Canada’s largest refinery, eight petroleum terminals, and over 800 retail locations in Canada and the US.
General Manager, Southeast Asia
Based in Singapore, Bob is responsible for managing ARC Advisory Group’s business operations and market research activities in the Southeast Asia region. Following 15 years in engineering roles with companies such as British Aerospace, GEC, and the Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTech), he embarked on a decade-long career in industrial technology media, holding senior editorial positions at Contineo Media, Reed Business Information, and Eastern Trade Media, and helming publications including Control Engineering Asia, Industrial Automation Asia, and Logistics Insight Asia.
