The next European Forum will be held in Sitges (Barcelona), Spain on May 6-8, 2024 and focus on “Managing Digital Transformation in the Age of AI, Open Architectures, and Sustainability”. Participants are invited to attend exclusive presentations and workshops on strategies and case studies from the digital front lines.

UniversalAutomation.org - Global Sponsor
ARC welcomes UniversalAutomation.org (UAO) as sponsor for the European Industry Forum in Barcelona from May 6-8. UAO is an independent, non-for-profit association managing the implementation of an industrial automation, shared source runtime execution engine, based on the IEC 61499 standard, providing a basis for an ecosystem of portable, interoperable, “plug and produce” solutions.

UAO Annual Membership Assembly
Like last year, UAO will hold its Annual Membership Assembly as a closed-door session on Monday morning, the first day of the Forum. Members of UAO attending the European Industry Forum on-site can receive a complimentary ticket. Please confirm your participation by contacting Greg Boucaud

Discover UniversalAutomation.org
In an open-door session on Monday afternoon, Forum participants can meet experts from UAO member companies to discover and discuss current projects, possible use cases and product innovations from the organization’s ecosystem.

UniversalAutomation.org will also be the topic of one of the Forum’s keynotes on Tuesday morning. Danilo de Faria, the global digital manufacturing leader of Nestlé, will show how he and his team are constantly reviewing their automation strategies. The goal is to deliver the most flexible, reliable, and sustainable automation technologies to Nestlé’s operations. Danilo has 25 years of experience in the F&B and is passionate about new technologies and how to leverage them to contribute to his company’s ambitions and objectives.

Co-Existence of New Technologies
On Tuesday afternoon, ARC will host a plenary discussion on the co-existence of new technologies, providing insights on UAO, OPA, MTP and NOA. The end users, Jacco Opmeer from Shell, Sølve Raan from Kongsberg and Franco Cavadini from Gr3n, will be joined by the VDMA, relevant system, component and software providers, as well as integrators.
