Leading network infrastructure supplier Cisco delivered a record fiscal 2026, highlighting how the convergence of AI infrastructure investment, network modernization, cybersecurity requirements, and industrial digitalization is reshaping demand across its portfolio. While much of the market attention remains focused on hyperscale AI deployments, Cisco’s latest results also reveal growing momentum in industrial networking and Industrial IoT, an area that has become increasingly important as manufacturers, utilities, and critical infrastructure operators modernize operations and prepare for AI-enabled workloads at the edge.
For fiscal year 2026, Cisco reported record revenue of $63.3 billion, up 12 percent year over year, while fourth-quarter revenue reached a record $17.3 billion, growing 18 percent. Product revenue increased 24 percent in the quarter, reflecting broad-based demand across networking, security, collaboration, and AI infrastructure. The company also achieved record profitability, with non-GAAP EPS increasing 23 percent in the quarter and 14 percent for the full fiscal year.
Networking Supercycle Driven by AI Infrastructure Buildout
Cisco leadership characterized the current environment as the early stages of a multiyear “Networking Supercycle.” As enterprises, hyperscalers, governments, manufacturers, and infrastructure operators expand AI initiatives, they must simultaneously upgrade networking, security, observability, and automation infrastructure. AI is no longer confined to the data center. It increasingly spans cloud, on-premises environments, and operational edge locations, all requiring resilient and secure connectivity.
AI infrastructure buildout remains the strongest growth driver. Cisco recorded $4 billion in hyperscale AI infrastructure orders during the fourth quarter, bringing fiscal-year AI infrastructure orders to $9.3 billion, approximately 4.5 times fiscal 2025 levels. Demand was fueled by Silicon One-based systems, optical networking technologies, and expanding deployments among major hyperscale cloud providers.
AI Investment in Enterprise and at the Edge
Cisco reported an additional more than $1 billion in AI infrastructure orders during fiscal 2026 from enterprise, sovereign cloud, and neocloud customers. These results reinforce the contention that AI infrastructure investment is increasingly spreading beyond hyperscalers and into operational environments, where manufacturers, utilities, and critical infrastructure operators are modernizing networks to support edge computing, industrial AI, cybersecurity, and real-time data-driven operations. Industrial network modernization remains an important component of the broader AI-driven technology investment cycle.
Continued Double-Digit Growth for Industrial IoT
Cisco noted that orders for its Industrial IoT portfolio achieved double-digit growth for the ninth consecutive quarter and accelerated again during Q4. Growth was driven primarily by deployments in manufacturing and utilities, two sectors that continue to invest in digital transformation initiatives, industrial networking modernization, and edge computing capabilities.
The company also highlighted increasing demand for ruggedized networking infrastructure within data center facilities. As AI infrastructure expands and facilities become more distributed, operators require networking equipment capable of operating reliably in harsh environmental conditions while supporting high-bandwidth connectivity. This represents an emerging intersection between Cisco’s traditional enterprise networking strengths and the requirements of industrial-grade infrastructure environments.
For industrial organizations, these results reflect a broader modernization cycle underway across operational environments. Manufacturers and utilities increasingly require secure connectivity between industrial assets, enterprise systems, cloud platforms, and AI applications. The infrastructure supporting these deployments must deliver not only performance and scalability, but also cybersecurity, observability, and automation capabilities.
Security Remains a Critical Component of Cisco Strategy
The company reported double-digit growth across its security portfolio, including strong adoption of Secure Access, XDR, Hypershield, and AI Defense. More than 1,500 customers purchased these newer security offerings during the quarter. As industrial organizations connect more assets and integrate AI into operational workflows, cybersecurity considerations are becoming inseparable from networking investments.
Management and AI-Assisted Operations
Cisco continues to place growing emphasis on unified management and AI-assisted operations. Platforms such as Cisco Cloud Control, AI Canvas, Cisco IQ, and Resilient Infrastructure Services are designed to simplify operations across increasingly complex environments. For industrial operators facing workforce shortages and growing infrastructure complexity, AI-enabled operational tools can become as important as the underlying network hardware itself.
