GE Digital announced the availability of the latest version of its CIMPLICITY 2022 HMI/SCADA software. A secure-by-design automation platform, CIMPLICITY provides client/server visualization and control ranging 
from single machines to multiple plants located globally, which can help industrial companies better manage operations, further enable the connected worker, and achieve faster time to value with no/low code technology.
Part of the Proficy family from GE Digital, CIMPLICITY can help to deliver faster response, reduced costs, improved security, and increased profitability. This new version also provides options to deploy on-prem, in the cloud, or a hybrid architecture to help reduce infrastructure and maintenance costs.
Other new capabilities can help to further reduce time to solution, lower total cost of ownership, and support the connected worker including: the flexibility of Python scripting, improving extensibility and ease of use; analytics through SCADA data and Python libraries; support for cloud infrastructures including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS); and improved single-server scale and alarm visualization.
When customization is needed, by leveraging machine learning-based analytics to drive optimization, users have indicated that the new Python capabilities in CIMPLICITY have enabled them to create scripts with up to 70 percent reduced development time with improved maintainability compared to traditional scripting languages. With faster configuration and less complexity, analytics are more accessible to companies and better support continuous improvement programs, which helps to reduce costs, improve quality, and increase consistency.
CIMPLICITY is designed to be a solution suited for industrial companies building remote operations centers, including power, water utilities, metropolitan authorities, such as rail and highways, and companies with multiple manufacturing locations. The software can help to improve connectivity, security, and reliability across an organization. Since CIMPLICITY is designed to handle larger-scale projects with fewer servers, it can help to minimize maintenance time and costs with zero deployment clients, as well as reduce hardware and maintenance costs up to 5X as much compared to deployments with a higher number of servers.
