Need for digital transformation for buildings, power grid, transportation, towns and cities will continue to accelerate and evolve over the coming years. Every organization and municipality will need to innovate, change, and adapt.
So, where to begin? How can you determine which technologies and techniques to consider, which to prioritize, and which to reject? The answer will certainly be different for each organization, but a good starting point is to understand the critical dimensions of the problem, because this can serve as the basis for planning. Digital Transformation Council Mission
The Digital Transformation Council seeks to enable industry, energy, and public sector professionals driving or impacted by digital transformation to keep abreast of the many emerging technologies and business trends, to learn from others on similar journeys, and to leverage these trends and technologies to achieve transformational growth.
Council members benefit from access to community of peers. They can tap the latest thinking from thought leaders, download research documents from the Council Library, participate in quarterly web meetings and other events, interact with ARC analysts, and request facilitated meetings with suppliers or other community members
- The Council consists of members drawn from organizations, industry associations, cities together with representatives from ARC.
- ARC conducts research, organizes meetings, provides venues, manages, and otherwise supports the Council.
- Council members are expected to share information and regularly participate in a number of surveys, and will receive priority access to survey results.
- The general direction and focus areas of the Council is set by a steering committee, consisting of a number of active members and named ARC representatives.
- The Steering committee will meet regularly as needed, usually via web meeting
Council Membership Rules
- The Digital Transformation Council is a community for professional networking and collaboration. It exists to encourage the open exchange of ideas. Engagement drives the value of the council for both the community and individual members, so regular participation by members is encouraged.
- Council members are expected to conduct themselves in a professional, respectful manner in all Council interactions.
- Members may download ARC content for their own use and convenience, but may not share or distribute these materials without prior approval from ARC.
- Council members are expected to share information and regularly participate by completing surveys. These surveys typically take less than 10 minutes to complete, and fall into two principal categories:
- Topical surveys designed to gather information to be used in support of ARC research. Members are expected to complete a minimum of 4 of these surveys per year. Published results will contain only aggregate data, with no identifying information about the member or the member’s organization.
- User preference surveys designed to better understand the interests of Council members. Ideally, each member will complete each of these surveys in a timely manner.
- ARC reserves the right to remove any member who does not comply with the above.
Steering Committee Members
The role of the Digital Transformation Council Steering Committee is to serve as the central governing body of the DTC under the shared decision-making model. Specifically, the role of the Steering Committee is to provide:
- Input to strategy
- Input to policies and rules
- Day-to-day decision making
- Web Meeting topics and agenda
- Obtain approvals by DTC
