Arron Nelson
VPP Chairman
Braskem

Arron works in industrial Operational Technology (OT) cybersecurity and reliability at Braskem, supporting U.S. site operations. His role focuses on strengthening the foundational controls required for resilient, AI aware cybersecurity in high hazard chemical environments. During 2026, Arron is supporting the establishment of a comprehensive OT network life cycle baseline, including asset inventory accuracy, equipment life cycle status, spare parts readiness, and identification of reliability and cybersecurity risks. This work is increasingly critical as AI enabled attackers leverage automation to rapidly identify and exploit legacy and poorly documented industrial assets common in long lived chemical operations. In parallel, Arron supports the standardization of access credentials across U.S. industrial OT networks, improvement of site level cyber hygiene, and delivery of secure remote intervention capabilities. His efforts include closing documented hygiene gaps, coordinating corrective actions, and supporting Phase 1 of the Remote Intervention Project to enable secure remote access while reducing AI targeted attack paths into control and safety systems. Across these initiatives, Arron helps ensure that AI driven defensive technologies—such as anomaly detection, asset intelligence, access analytics, and risk prioritization—are grounded in accurate asset data, disciplined lifecycle management, and consistent access governance. His work emphasizes that in chemical manufacturing, effective AI defense is built on strong operational and cyber hygiene fundamentals.
