Human-centered design or design thinking are approaches to problem solving, that put the user center stage. Rather than designing a solution from a technical or technical and business aspect alone, the starting point is the challenges the user experiences, and the design process focuses on a solution that fits the needs, requirements, and wishes of the user for an optimal user experience. The designer must empathize with the user, to design with an optimal solution.

User profiles are determined by conducting interviews, in iterations in which (simple) solution prototypes are used to validate or adjust the user needs.

Solutions must be screened for bottom line benefits using a business case methodology. A human-centered change management approach must be used to create successful adoption, and create significant impact on the bottom-line.

The meeting will cover basic principles of design thinking, provide information on available resources, and experienced panelists will comment on how the process works in practice and help answer questions from the public.
