Schneider Electric has launched Altivar Predict, a monitoring technology designed for the Altivar Process (ATV600) variable speed drive (VSD) and pumps. Altivar Predict uses embedded algorithms to analyze operating cycles of drives, motors, and motor-driven applications, such as pumps, compressors, and fans. This sensor-less solution enables the drive to also become a monitoring tool, providing addition functionality for predictive maintenance.
Features and Functionality:
Fault Detection and Prediction: The technology identifies potential failures in the drive, motor, and motor-driven applications by analyzing real-time data, such as speed and torque control.
Monitoring without Hardware Additions: Altivar Predict operates without requiring additional hardware and can function as an on-premises solution or connect to the cloud via a gateway.
Application Insights: For pumps, it can detect issues, such as cavitation, dry running, air presence, excessive wear, clogs, or damaged components. For VSDs, it monitors components such as cooling systems, DC bus capacitors, and insulated-gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs).
