ARC Advisory Group recently attended the Infosys Confluence event in San Francisco, California and also toured the Infosys campus in Bengaluru, India to learn more about the company's approach to Industrial IoT.
Infosys Confluence Event
The Infosys Confluence event in San Francisco in April drew 1,800 highly engaged attendees. As Sandeep Dadlani, President of Americas for Infosys explained in his opening comments, the conference theme, "Zero Distance," refers to the point of action where the "rubber meets the road" and minimizes the delay between sensing conditions and action.
Opening Keynote
During his keynote address, Dr. Vishal Sikka, CEO, Infosys provided color to the management strategy. Technology allows you to see things that you normally would not see. "Zero Distance" involves being continually in touch with outside reality by constantly sensing it while closing the gap among employees, the code, clients, and the end user. For Dr. Sikka, Zero Distance also means that, in every project, Infosys' people will be inspired to provide something innovative. An example included a recent upgrade at the Hyderabad campus where a new 6.6 MW solar plant allowed Infosys to go off grid. He added that Zero Distance enables reaching your full potential with automation, innovation, and education.
