Mark Sen Gupta has more than 30 years of experience in process automation, SCADA, and Industrial IT applications. He began his career as a Process Control Engineer with Mobay Corporation (Bayer) in Baytown, Texas, where he worked with instrumentation, PLCs, and distributed control systems (DCSs).
Mark later joined Honeywell as an Applications Engineer, supporting DCS and SCADA solutions. He subsequently moved into the sales organization as a Systems Consultant focused on SCADA, batch automation, Foundation Fieldbus, and hybrid control technologies. He then joined Plant Automation Services, where he managed the company's alarm management product line and authored the original specification for the PlantState Suite.
At CygNet Software (Weatherford), Mark established and managed the Sales Support organization, specializing in automation solutions for oil and gas production and pipeline transportation. He later joined Invensys (now Schneider Electric) as Product Manager for Hybrid and Process Control, leading initiatives associated with the company's next-generation automation portfolio.
Throughout his career, Mark has gained extensive experience across the refining, chemical, specialty chemical, pulp and paper, and oil and gas industries. His expertise spans automation strategy, process control, SCADA systems, alarm management, operational technology, autonomous operations, and digital transformation. As a Director of Consulting at ARC Advisory Group, Mark advises end users and suppliers on automation technologies, operational excellence, and the evolution toward increasingly autonomous industrial operations.
