Rockwell Automation and AT&T are collaborating to improve remote asset utilization and connected machine management. The companies plan to deliver cellular solutions that help enable Rockwell Automation customers to more securely collect, manage and take action on data from industrial equipment located in plants and remote sites around the globe.

Halliburton Eliminates One of Its Chief Rivals with Acquisition of Baker Hughes for $34.6 Billion

Halliburton Co., the world's second-biggest provider of oilfield services, agreed to buy No. 3 Baker Hughes Inc. (BHI) in the largest takeover of a U.S. energy company in three years.

Baker Hughes shareholders will receive 1.12 Halliburton shares plus $19 in cash for each share they own, the companies said in a joint statement. Halliburton plans to finance the deal through a combination of cash on hand and debt financing.

Flowserve Announces Agreement to Acquire SIHI Group

Flowserve Corporation, a leading provider of flow control products and services for the global infrastructure markets, announced that it has submitted a binding offer to acquire the equity of SIHI Group B.V., a global provider of engineered vacuum and fluid pumps and related services, from TBG Europe NV for consideration of approximately €298 million ($372.5 million equivalent1). Closing is subject to standard regulatory approvals and other customary conditions.

KORE Wireless to Acquire RacoWireless

KORE Wireless Group, Inc., a leading global provider of managed M2M communications services, announced the acquisition, in an all-cash transaction, of RacoWireless, a company recognized for its experience and reputation for making IoT/M2M easy by providing end-to-end connectivity solutions. Following the completion of this transaction, the combined company will have offices in five countries and serve more than 3 million subscribers on behalf of over 1,500 customers using services in more than 110 markets around the world.

IBM and Tencent Cloud Partner to Transform Industries with Cloud

IBM and Tencent Cloud announced plans to extend Tencent's public cloud platform to the enterprise. The two companies, under the terms of a memorandum of understanding, will build and market a new class of public cloud tailored for industries, powered by cloud migration and integration services and a range of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings -- from customer care and digital marketing to enterprise asset management.

Rockwell Automation Acquires ESC Services, a Leading Lockout-Tagout Service Provider

Rockwell Automation, Inc. announced it has purchased the assets of ESC Services, Inc., a global hazardous energy control provider of lockout-tagout services and solutions. ESC's unique methodology utilizes Quick Response (QR) codes that can be scanned to obtain asset information and streamline compliance with both external regulations and internal safety policies.

Murata and Yokogawa Announce Alliance for Development of ISA100 Wireless Communication Modules

Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Yokogawa Electric Corporation announce that they have reached an agreement whereby they will cooperate in the development of communication modules for field wireless devices used in plants. Under the terms of this agreement, Yokogawa will license its technology to Murata and Murata will develop the communication modules.

Tesoro to Acquire QEP Field Services for $2.5 billion

Tesoro Corp. affiliate Tesoro Logistics LP has agreed to acquire QEP Resources Inc.'s wholly owned subsidiary QEP Field Services LLC (QEPFS), including its 58 percent partnership interests in QEP Midstream Partners LP for $2.5 billion. The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter.

The deal includes what Tesoro describes as strategically located natural gas gathering and processing assets in the Rocky Mountains, Uinta basin, and North Dakota, expanding the company's growth opportunity into gas midstream business.

GLOBALFOUNDRIES to Acquire IBM's Microelectronics Business

IBM and GLOBALFOUNDRIES announced that they have signed a Definitive Agreement under which GLOBALFOUNDRIES plans to acquire IBM's global commercial semiconductor technology business, including intellectual property, world-class technologists and technologies related to IBM Microelectronics, subject to completion of applicable regulatory reviews. GLOBALFOUNDRIES will also become IBM's exclusive server processor semiconductor technology provider for 22 nanometer (nm), 14nm and 10nm semiconductors for the next 10 years.

Siemens to Acquire Camstar, Extending Leadership in Industrial Digitalization
