The Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) announced the publication of the Data Protection Best Practices White Paper.  Designed for stakeholders involved in cybersecurity, privacy and IIoT trustworthiness, the paper describes best practices that can be applied to protect various types of IIoT data and systems.

Stratus Technologies announced that it has joined The Open Group Open Process Automation Forum (OPAF) to help define the next generation edge computing standards for industrial operators. 

ExxonMobil said it has signed collaboration agreements with six other companies to accelerate the development of Open Process Automation (OPA) systems.

Yokogawa Electric Corporation announced the release of CENTUM VP R6.07, as the core product in the OpreX Control and Safety System family of solutions.

PROFINET specification 2.4, including TSN capabilities, is now complete and can be downloaded by all PI members.    Specification 2.4 includes details on PROFINET that are separate from TSN, with PROFINET remaining fully compatible with all previous versions.
