GE Intelligent Platforms, a segment of the company’s Automation and Controls business under GE Power, announced the release of two new control solutions.  Leveraging the capabilities of its Industrial Internet Control System (IICS), Intelligent Platforms is introducing PACSystems RX3i CPL410, an outcome optimizing open controller, and Equipment Insight 2018, a remote monitoring as a service platform.

The LoRa Alliance, the global association of companies backing the open LoRaWAN protocol for the Internet of Things (IoT) low-power wide-area networks (LPWANs), announced public availability of three new specifications.

With the introduction of ABB Ability AIS for MV - UniSec Digital - the portfolio of MV digital switchgear is extended to encompass secondary power distribution needs as well.

Siemens has expanded the functionality of Sidrive IQ - a digital platform enabling the evaluation and utilization of data gathered from drive systems – that was launched earlier this year.  On the basis of networked drive systems from Siemens, this cloud-based application is now also available for motors and converters in the medium and high-voltage range.

StarlingX—the open source edge computing and IoT cloud platform optimized for low latency and high performance applications—is available in its first release.  The project was established in May as a pilot project supported by the OpenStack Foundation (OSF) and builds on code contributed by Wind River and Intel Corporation.

Rockwell Automation has introduced the Integrated Safety Functions Option Module that offers several safety functions based on IEC 61800-5-2 standards for Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 755 and 755T AC drives.  It includes the ability to monitor speed, direction and position on an EtherNet/IP network.

Endress+Hauser has invested more than 10.4 million euros in a new production facility at its location in Nesselwang, Germany. The 4,800-square-meter building contains new production and office space, in addition to technology and common rooms. With the expansion, the Endress+Hauser Group is making further investments in sustainable growth.

Sumitomo Chemical has recently gained approval from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) about the Company's Group-wide greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets.  Sumitomo Chemical is the first among diversified chemical companies in the world to have acquired the approval.
