Weatherford has announced the commercial release of the PressurePro control system, a fully-integrated rotating control device (RCD) and choke system for wellbore pressure management on land.

The control system combines the SafeShield 5M RCD, which has a 5,000-psi rating, with the PressurePro set-point choke. The system can be used for managed pressure drilling, underbalanced drilling and foam drilling applications.

Intel announced the delivery of a 17-qubit superconducting test chip for quantum computing to QuTech, Intel’s quantum research partner in the Netherlands. The new chip was fabricated by Intel and features a unique design to achieve improved yield and performance.

The motto of the recent EMO Hannover 2017 was "Connecting systems for intelligent production" and more than 2,200 international manufacturers of production technology where showcasing their solutions.  And not just systems were connecting, the show welcomed around 130,000 visitors, of which more than half came from outside Germany, with a sharply increased number of Asian  exhibitors and attendees. 

Dell Technologies announced the formation of a new IoT solutions strategy and division. This new division is rooted in Dell Technologies’ new “Distributed Core” computing model, which is the basis of the company’s IoT Strategy. It will be led by VMware’s CTO Ray O’Farrell, and it’s chartered to orchestrate the development of IoT products and services across the Dell Technologies family.
