Rockwell Automation Enhances Studio 5000 Software for More Efficient System Development

Rockwell Automation will release PlantPAx model predictive control (MPC) software, which for the first time embeds fully functional MPC technology into Logix controllers to help maximize equipment performance. When used in process applications ranging from consumer to heavy industries, PlantPAx MPC reportedly can help improve overall control in a single machine or an entire line to help to maximize throughput, increase yield, reduce quality variability and improve energy usage.

Rockwell Automation’s New IO-Link Master and Sensors Target Enhanced Machine Productivity

Rockwell Automation released its new IO-Link master for the Allen-Bradley POINT I/O system and IO-Link enabled sensors, designed to help users go beyond detecting machine problems to help enhance machine productivity. The IO-Link master consists of enhanced sensors used to help simplify configuration and implementation, monitor machine health, and communicate data and diagnostics in real-time via the global IO-Link communication protocol.

Mentor Graphics Advances Nucleus RTOS for Internet of Things and Embedded Connected Devices

Mentor Graphics Corporation announced an update to the Mentor Embedded Nucleus real-time operating system (RTOS) targeting low power applications for connected embedded and internet of things (IoT) devices. The Nucleus RTOS supports the development of applications utilizing the ARM TrustZone in Cortex-A processors. The ARM TrustZone technology provides a system approach to create processor partitioning that isolates both hardware resources and software to help create a more secure world that is better protected from software attacks.

Yokogawa to Release Enhanced Version of Safety Instrumented System

Yokogawa Electric Corporation announces that it will be releasing an enhanced version of the ProSafe-RS safety instrumented system (SIS) on November 27. This new version, R4.01, features an expansion of Yokogawa's lineup of I/O devices and introduces crucial new SIS components. In addition, the FieldMate Validator software has been enhanced to work with this latest version of ProSafe-RS.
