Emerson announced enhancements to its GuardianTM Digital Platform, introducing expanded artificial intelligence capabilities and increased customization to improve visibility, accelerate workforce productivity, and support operational performance.

The updates address the need for faster access to relevant information in industrial environments, particularly for lean teams responsible for maintaining and optimizing automation systems. The platform integrates Emerson’s automation software and lifecycle services into a unified environment designed to streamline workflows and improve system oversight.

“The Guardian Digital Platform provides lifecycle support for the software and systems defining the next generation of industrial automation,” said Dawn Marruchella, Vice President of Guardian software and solutions. “The intuitive upgrade paths, updates and AI-empowered support delivered via the Guardian Digital Platform keep legacy and modern systems aligned and secure, making it a keystone of Emerson’s emerging enterprise operations platform.”

Platform Enhancements

The latest release introduces several functional improvements across AI, user experience, and lifecycle support:

  • AI-Enabled Insights and Guidance: Expanded AI capabilities connect platform-wide data to provide more comprehensive insights. The Guardian Virtual Advisor delivers natural language guidance, enabling users to access documentation and receive step-by-step recommendations.

  • Customizable User Dashboards: A new dashboard allows users to tailor views based on roles such as operators, engineers, and maintenance teams. This supports faster access to relevant data and improves usability.

  • Enhanced Knowledge Management: Improvements to the Knowledge Base Article module include better search functionality and contextual access to updates, helping teams proactively manage system health.

  • Integrated Support Workflows: New workflows provide visibility into issue resolution processes, including real-time updates and collaboration with support teams.

The platform also supports knowledge transfer as experienced personnel retire and new workers enter the industry, enabling faster onboarding and skills development. By combining software, lifecycle services, and global support, the platform aims to improve reliability and reduce operational risk across industrial systems.
