Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management and automation, announced the acquisition of Renewable Choice Energy, a company that helps commercial, industrial, and institutional organizations navigate their clean energy purchasing options.  This Schneider Electric acquisition further enhances its existing position as a leading sustainability company in the growing renewables market.  It helps to bolster Schneider Electric’s advisory services for power purchase agreements (PPAs), in which clients procure clean energy directly from large-scale renewable energy projects, and will help aid clients in implementation of other clean technology solutions.

Renewable Choice Energy has been an early participant in the renewable energy industry, connecting organizations to renewable energy and carbon reducing technologies since 2001.  Working with over 30 percent of the Fortune 500, Renewable Choice Energy’s clients have added over 1,000 megawatts of new wind and solar capacity to the global grid.  The company has been recognized by, for example, the Department of Energy, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council.
