U.S.-Japan ICS Cybersecurity Joint Training Held for First Time in Japan

The Industrial Cyber Security Center of Excellence (ICSCoE), established by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and Information-Technology Promotion Agency (IPA) as a public-private partnership, invited the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the ICS-CERT Training team to conduct Industrial Control System (ICS) cybersecurity joint training from September 19th to 26th, in Tokyo. ICS-CERT provided a four-day training session for ICSCoE sutudents and a two-day session for trainers. This is the first such training conducted by DHS/ICS-CERT in Japan.

METI, IPA and DHS/ICS-CERT also confirmed their continued cooperation in the cybersecurity field. ICSCoE was established in April 2017 to develop core human resources for cybersecurity on Japanese critical infrastructures and industries.
