Alfredo’s responsibilities include overseeing control system cybersecurity, research and development of blow out preventer controls, virtualization of control systems, technical authority, and developing standards for control systems within NOV’s Rig Systems group. He utilizes his engineering experience and his in-depth knowledge of security best practices to help manage risk and secure NOV’s mission critical systems in both local and distributed network architectures. Alfredo has worked with organizations such as Alstom Power, ICS Triplex Silvertech, Control Dynamics International, and Dresser-Rand, and holds numerous certifications from TUV and Hirschmann, including Industrial Network Professional, Industrial Ethernet Specialist, and Safety System Engineering. His goal at this year’s ARC Forum is to help attendees better understand how they can design their networks to be defendable, and secure their operational technology in a reliable and scalable manner.
