An optimist with an innovative eye and savoir-faire for strategy, Heather has dedicated herself to focusing on holistic solutions for a smarter more sustainable future leveraging technology, innovation, and rapidly changing social trends.  She has over 15 years of commercial real estate and project development experience.  Experience and knowledge supports her strong focus in Smart Cities through connected technology, leveraging data, and ecosystem strategy.  Heather worked closely with the City of Charlotte, NC on developing the vision for their Smart District. Her research included economic cluster dynamics, international urban redevelopment, sustainability and resiliency strategies, and the energy + water nexus.  She has collaborated with notable companies such as Cisco, Intel, Amazon.com, AWS, Itron, SAS, Microsoft, Halo Smart Labs, and Lowes among others. She has also engaged in supportive university research with Carnegie Mellon, Wake Forest University and UNC Charlotte.
