In this video from the 2020 ARC Industry Forum in Orlando, Dan Stauft of SugarCreek provides a down-to-earth presentation of how this large, privately held food processing company approached an automation upgrade at a brownfield food processing plant in Indiana. Built in 2015, the plant had a modern and robust network architecture, but little data integration between its multi-vendor plant floor environment and enterprise systems. As Mr. Stauft explained, this was due to the lack of available standards at the time and lack of an IT/OT vision. SugarCreek partnered with a technology supplier to overcome these common roadblocks to successful IT/OT convergence.
