This release outlines how Kepware Edge and Kepware Server are designed to help support modernization of industrial connectivity through containerized deployment, unified management, and expanded interoperability.

Kepware introduced two products aligned with evolving industrial connectivity requirements: Kepware Edge and Kepware Server. The release is designed to address the shift from legacy architectures toward distributed, edge-first designs that support data movement across operational systems, analytics platforms, and enterprise applications without requiring extensive infrastructure replacement.
Kepware Edge introduced a containerized deployment model for Linux environments, helping to enable faster scaling and simpler system management while reducing operational overhead. It supports connectivity across commonly used industrial platforms and protocols, such as Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Modbus, OPC UA, and MQTT, enabling interoperability across heterogeneous environments. To support governance and performance requirements, the platform included enhanced audit logging, 64-bit processing for large datasets, and remote configuration through Kepware+ Manager, providing centralized oversight for distributed deployments.
Regarding industrial connectivity and AI infrastructure, ARC Advisory Group, Vice President, Craig Resnick noted that, “Kepware Edge’s containerized architecture and robust protocol support are designed to provide the secure, scalable data flows that today’s AI-driven manufacturing demands, providing real-time insights to help organizations accelerate their digital transformation. Kepware Edge will help to redefine industrial connectivity by enabling manufacturers to deploy modern, containerized solutions that can scale rapidly and simplify management. Its advanced security features and remote configuration capabilities will position Kepware Edge as a connectivity foundation for future-ready, resilient smart manufacturing operations.”
Kepware Server consolidates Kepware’s Windows-based offerings into a single unified platform, helping to simplify migration and access to capabilities previously distributed across different products. The unified platform combines KEPServerEX and ThingWorx Kepware Server to help streamline system administration and software management.
Updates include:
A single Windows-based architecture consolidating server products.
Expanded connectivity support, including ControlLogix firmware updates and Siemens TIA Portal tag export enhancements.
Time-series data access for MTConnect.
Operating system support extended to Windows Server 2025.
Updated certificate handling with 2048-bit certificate staging.
The release also includes updates to Kepware+ Manager, which operates as a centralized control plane for managing Kepware deployments at scale. It now supports both Kepware Server and Kepware Edge, and introduces additional remote configuration features for data normalization, conditional monitoring, and calculation logic, enabling administrators to apply changes across environments from a single interface.
Looking ahead, Kepware plans to broaden protocol coverage for Kepware Edge and extend management capabilities through Kepware+ Manager. Examples of future development areas include additional drivers such as OPC UA Client, Siemens S7 Plus, and Mitsubishi Electric Automation, along with improvements to deployment workflows and configuration management for containerized environments.
This release reflects Kepware’s focus on helping to further enable standardized data access, reduce integration complexity, and support scalable industrial architectures aligned with digital transformation initiatives.
