The connection helps to supports ITAR- and EAR-compliant workflows across engineering, quality, and supply chain operations for US government and defense-related programs.

PTC announced the connection of its Onshape Government computer-aided design (CAD) and product data management (PDM) platform with its Arena product lifecycle management (PLM) and quality management system (QMS) solution for Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud. The connection is intended to help support US government agencies, defense contractors, and other regulated industries that must comply with strict security and regulatory requirements.
Regulated organizations often need to securely link design data with downstream product and quality processes to help manage complex programs. With this connection, users can link design and PDM data from Onshape Government directly with Arena PLM for AWS GovCloud, helping to enable a continuous workflow across engineering, quality, and supply chain functions within an ITAR- and EAR-compliant environment.
Both Onshape Government and Arena PLM are hosted on AWS GovCloud (US), providing a security foundation designed to help meet government compliance and data protection requirements. The connection supports role-based access controls, audit logging, real-time synchronization of bills of materials and engineering changes, full traceability, and controlled collaboration with contractors and suppliers.
This release extends the existing Onshape–Arena connection to organizations operating under US government compliance requirements, expanding access to cloud-native product development and lifecycle management capabilities in regulated environments.
