Translating the Open Digital Ecosystem Principles to Business Transformation Strategy

Industrial AI is data-constrained, not technology-constrained. Roughly 13 percent of industrial firms have scaled AI, while the rest remain in pilot purgatory. Projects that stall are typically constrained by gaps in trusted, contextualized information, governance, and organizational readiness rather than by the algorithms themselves. The ARC Advisory Group Open Digital Ecosystem (ODE) sets out five principles - Open, Agnostic, Data Ownership, Interoperable, and Transferable - that establish the baseline for scalable asset digital twins, Industrial AI, and advanced analytics. But principles alone do not tell an organization where its information foundation breaks, where value is most at risk, or what to fix first.
This webinar bridges that gap by showing how to translate ODE principles into a practical business transformation strategy. ARC will position ODE as a business transformation strategy focused on connecting engineering, operations, and business information into one trusted, governed source of truth.
The session will show how to map the enterprise as business components, with lifecycle value streams across the columns and Direct, Control, and Execute accountability levels down the rows, to identify the “hot components” where value at stake is highest and information maturity is weakest. Using an illustrative refining and petrochemical lifecycle model, we will walk through capability gaps between as-is and target maturity, governance layers that make data ownership real, and the service boundaries, owners, and KPIs each priority component must publish.
Attendees will leave with a clear structure for leadership alignment, prioritized use cases, enabling data and governance foundations, and a 12-to-24-month roadmap for moving from AI ambition to funded execution.
