At ARC's European Industry Forum 2016, Denis Besnoit, Project Manager at French Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton (LVMH-PCIS) will provide an insight into the implementation of MES in their cosmetics manufacturing plants. The French LVMH fragrance brands include well-known names like: Parfums Christian Dior, Parfums Givenchy, Guerlain, etc. Denis has managed the implementation of MES systems in plants of the LVMH fragrance brands for five years.
In 2011 LVMH (Moët Hennessy – Louis Vuitton) fragrance brands implemented Quartis Optima, a full and scalable MES software in its Guerlain plant. In 2013 the company started a project to introduce MES in its Dior factory in Orleans. The goal was the implementation of three modules of the MES Quartis Optima suites to enable Lean Manufacturing. The software allowed to implement data acquisition, OEE (overall equipment effectiveness) measurement, performance analysis as well as tracking and genealogy. The project involved 2 plants with 55 production lines, 45 of those are automatic lines and 10 are operator lines. LVMH can now benefit from the positive effect of running 3 plants with the same MES solution.
The project began in September 2014 and was completed in December 2015. Bodet Osys acted as integrator and provided the necessary MES solution and process knowledge. They cooperated with CGI, an independent IT technology and business process services firm. CGI brought its knowledge and experience in project and change management to the implementation. The complementary effect of this collaboration brought the project to a successful end.
