Customer’s participating in Schneider Electric’s recent Maximize Return on Assets event in Chicago were eager to share with their peers just how they are able to achieve maximum return from their assets over the operations cycle. The willingness of peers from across industries to share what has worked for them, work arounds, and even specific coding to solve an issue was impressive.
Schneider Electric continues to fill gaps in its software portfolio around the operations cycle, building on its strengths in delivering technology centric value propositions focused on process engineering, information management, asset management, operations control and management, and planning and scheduling. Its strategy is focused on driving value through easy to deploy industry solutions that deliver faster time to value for its customers, to leverage its APM platform and position as market leader for the industrial internet of things, and to enable new consumption models such as subscriptions to lower total cost of ownership. The company is embedding this strategy in its enterprise asset performance management portfolio to create actions based on data collection, visualization, and analysis to close the loop between business and operations.
Schneider Electric’s strategy was evident in the release of its Predictive Asset Analytics Suite for the power generation industry. The software suite is hardware agnostic and utilizes a federated asset model to unify the operational experience. Built on Avantis PRiSM and designed for improved decision support, this add-on module provides a digital framework to help utilities minimize outages, improve collaboration, and increase operational agility by contextualizing performance across the fleet in real-time for safer, more reliable, efficient, and sustainable operations according to the company.
Since the event, Schneider Electric has announced the acquisition of MaxEAM to bolster its asset performance management portfolio, particularly the mobile maintenance capabilities of Avantis.PRO for work scheduling, task execution, and data conversion. The two companies are long standing partners with complementary solutions. The acquisition will give customers a single point of contact and more closely align future product development in a unified enterprise APM platform.
