Apple and GE announced a partnership to deliver industrial apps designed to bring predictive data and analytics from Predix, GE’s industrial Internet of Things (IoT) platform, to iPhone and iPad. The two companies unveiled a new Predix software development kit (SDK) for iOS, which provides developers with tools to create their own industrial IoT apps.

St. Louis-based technology and engineering firm Emerson announced it has agreed to acquire Paradigm, a provider of software solutions for the oil and gas industry, for $510 million.

The Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) and Avnu Alliance announced they have agreed to a liaison to work together to advance deployment and interoperability of devices with Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) open standards. Under the agreement, the IIC and Avnu will work together to align efforts to maximize interoperability, portability, security and privacy for the industrial Internet.

Hitachi, Ltd. announced that in collaboration with Daicel Corporation, it has developed a management and manufacturing dashboard utilizing IoT to integrally visualize KPIs from management information to manufacturing workplaces' situation. According to the company, this enables executives, plant managers and production line supervisors to make decisions more rapidly by grasping useful information quantitatively and in a timely manner to improve management and productivity.
