Bentley Systems announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire ACTION Modulers’ water modeling software business based near Lisbon, Portugal. The team of environmental modeling scientists and researchers, led by general director, Frank Braunschweig, develops ACTION’s modeling software products including MOHID Studio, ACTION Server, ACTION Flood, ACTION Forecast, ACTION Seaport, ACTION Beach, and ACTION Weather.

Toyota Motor Corporation　and Hitachi, Ltd. announced that they will embark on a collaborative creation to build a high-efficiency production model using an IoT platform. These two companies will conduct verification at Toyota's model plants (Toyota, Aichi Prefecture) starting from this October. Through this verification, they intend to establish a platform using Hitachi's IoT platform "Lumada", which utilizes the latest digital technologies such as AI and big data analysis.

The Industrial Internet Consortium and EdgeX Foundry announced they have agreed to a liaison. Under the agreement, the IIC and the EdgeX Foundry will work together to align efforts to maximize interoperability, portability, security and privacy for the industrial Internet.

Joint activities between the IIC and the EdgeX Foundry will include:

Schneider Electric announced a new partnership with MaxGrip that reportedly will enable a more comprehensive asset lifecycle management offering that includes assessment services and risk-based maintenance capabilities. This expanded offering will be available as part of Schneider Electric’s Enterprise Asset Performance Management (APM) solution.
