Panduit and Uptake to Deliver Actionable Data Analytics for Manufacturing

Panduit Corp. and Uptake announced an agreement to bring actionable insights to customers in manufacturing and industrial process businesses based on Uptake’s Software-as-a-Service products. Panduit’s IntraVUE and SynapSense edge data collection capabilities and Uptake’s predictive analytics product suite and advanced data science capabilities will provide a solution delivering actionable manufacturing plant condition monitoring analytics.

ABB Acquires KEYMILE’s Communication Networks Business to Strengthen Digital Grid Portfolio and Software Focus

ABB announced it has agreed to acquire the mission-critical communication business of the KEYMILE Group to strengthen its communication networks portfolio. The acquisition will bring with it key products, software and service solutions, as well as research and development expertise. These will further enhance ABB’s industry-leading digital offering, ABB Ability, by adding communications technologies that are essential to maintain today’s dynamic and complex digital electrical grids.

Siemens Acquires Provider of Monitoring Systems for Rail Rolling Stock and Infrastructure

Siemens acquires the MRX Technologies Group, headquartered in Perth, Australia, and is further expanding its offering in the field of predictive maintenance based on digitalization. The Group is comprised of JRB Engineering Pty Ltd., MRX Technologies Ltd., MRX Rail Services Pty Ltd. and MRX Rail Service UK Ltd. The parties agreed not to disclose financial details of the acquisition. The acquired company will be managed as a legally independent firm within the Siemens Mobility Division.

SoftBank Invests in OSIsoft

SoftBank Group Corp, a telecom- and IoT-focused investor, announced plans to take a significant minority stake in OSIsoft LLC, a privately held maker of real-time data infrastructure for industrial markets.

According to its recent press release, SoftBank is buying out venture capital investors Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, TCV, and Tola Capital’s interest in OSIsoft. Japan's Mitsui & Co will remain an investor. Several years ago, Softbank began moving into the enterprise services markets from more consumer markets.
