The Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC), an organization dedicated to transforming business and society by accelerating the Industrial Internet of Things, and the Industrial Value Chain Initiative (IVI), a Japan-based forum that works on promotion of smart manufacturing for connected industries, announced they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). 

ABB and IBM announced a strategic collaboration that brings together ABB’s digital offering, ABB Ability, with IBM Watson Internet of Things cognitive capabilities to unlock new value for customers in utilities, industry and transport & infrastructure.

The first two joint industry solutions powered by ABB Ability and Watson will bring real-time cognitive insights to the factory floor and smart grids.
