ABB announced the acquisition of B&R, a supplier of factory automation solutions for machinery.  Founded in 1979, B&R is headquartered in Eggelsberg, Austria, and employs more than 3,000 people, including about 1,000 R&D and application engineers.  It operates across 70 countries, generating sales of more than $600 million (2015/16) in the market for machine and factory automation.

OSIsoft is extending the PI System data infrastructure to IIoT and edge devices to help customers monitor remote assets and reduce the time and complexity of expanding their infrastructure.  OSIsoft announced it is collaborating with partners, such as Dell, Arrow Electronics, B+B SmartWorx Powered by Advantech, ADLINK/PrismTech and RtTech Software, to encourage the development of new products and offerings that will improve productivity and accelerate digital transformation.

Waterfall Security announce a partnership with CNA Hardy and THB, providing a new cyber security protection package for industrial businesses around the world.  

Weatherford and Schlumberger announced an agreement to create OneStim, a joint venture to deliver completions products and services for the development of unconventional resource plays in the United States and Canada land markets.  The joint venture will offer one of the broadest multistage completions portfolios in the market combined with one of the largest hydraulic fracturing fleets in the industry.

Endress+Hauser has acquired SensAction AG, a manufacturer of systems for measuring the concentration of liquids.  With this move, the Switzerland-based Group intends to strengthen its quality measurement portfolio.  SensAction will remain headquartered in Coburg, Germany and keep the current staff of 13 employees.

SensAction will operate as a division of the Endress+Hauser center of competence for flow measurement technology headquartered in Reinach, Switzerland.

Infor announced the acquisition of Accentia Middle East, an Infor partner serving the Middle East, North Africa, and India (IMEA) region.  The acquisition of Accentia, structured as a purchase of the assets of Accentia Middle East and its affiliates, significantly expands Infor's presence in the region, and comes amid a period of strong growth following the July 2016 announcement of a dedicated IMEA business unit at Inforum, the company's annual user conference.

Intel Corporation and Mobileye N.V. announced a definitive agreement under which Intel would acquire Mobileye, a developer of computer vision and machine learning, data analysis, localization and mapping for driver assistance systems and autonomous driving.  Pursuant to the agreement, a subsidiary of Intel will commence a tender offer to acquire all of the issued and outstanding ordinary shares of Mobileye for $63.54 per share in cash, representing an equity value of approximately $15.3 billion and an enterprise value of $14.

Schneider Electric announced it has partnered with Microsoft on the design of a Universal Rack Power Distribution Unit (UPDU), introduced at the OCP U.S. Summit 2017 in Santa Clara, California.
