GE Digital and PwC announced that they have formed a strategic alliance to help organizations better leverage the Industrial Internet, helping to bring together intelligent machines, advanced analytics, and people. Under the Alliance, PwC and GE Digital are helping clients globally create Industrial Internet solutions with a focus on improving asset reliability, lowering costs, reducing risk, and driving more profitable growth.

PTC announced that it has joined the SAP PartnerEdge program as a partner that designs, develops and builds software integrated with SAP solutions. Through its participation in the program, PTC is now announcing the availability of its ThingWorx Internet of Things (IoT) platform running on the SAP HANA platform. The solution provides customers with essential IoT application development and analytics capabilities as well as innovative augmented reality functionality, powered by Vuforia.

Telit, a global enabler of the Internet of Things (IoT), announced it has collaborated with Intel on a joint-architecture for multiple Intel IoT developer platforms for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT). The commercially available Intel IoT platform consists of end-to-end reference architectures and products with Telit deviceWISE edge-intelligence technology, which includes extensive device driver libraries and built-in Cloud-readiness – giving companies an instant onramp to the Industrial IoT.

L&T Infotech, a global information technology services and solutions company announced a collaboration with Oracle to develop and market solutions based on the Oracle Internet of Things (IoT) Cloud Service. The companies are working together on innovative cloud solutions to help manufacturing, utilities, and construction companies digitize business processes and improve operational efficiencies.​

GE Digital announced it has acquired Meridium, Inc., a global provider of asset performance management (APM) software and services for asset-intensive industries. This acquisition will help GE Digital accelerate its Industrial Internet portfolio by adding a comprehensive APM offering, which provides its customers with a solution that helps to unify real-time analytics with reliability-centered maintenance best practices, delivering a complete APM solution.

Monsanto has accepted an increased takeover bid of $128/share from Bayer, paving the way for Bayer to acquire Monsanto in an all-cash transaction valued at $66 billion. The price is a slight increase from Bayer's latest bid of $127.50/share that was announced on September 6th, but short of the $130/share that analysts believed Monsanto was seeking. It represents a 44% premium to Monsanto's closing share price on May 9, 2016, the day before Bayer made its initial approach to Monsanto.

Extreme Networks has come to an agreement to acquire Zebra Technologies' wireless LAN business. This acquisition enables Extreme Networks to further provide its customers with the networking solutions and services required to run their business.

Rockwell Automation acquired Automation Control Products (ACP), a leading provider in centralized thin client, remote desktop and server management software. ACP's two core products, ThinManager and Relevance, provide manufacturers with visual display and software solutions to help manage information and streamline workflows for a more connected manufacturing environment.

Intel and TPG announced a definitive agreement under which the two parties will establish a newly formed, jointly owned, independent cybersecurity company. TPG is an alternative asset firm with over $70 billion of assets under management. The new company, spun out from Intel's "Intel Security" division, will be called McAfee following transaction close.

Telit, a global enabler of the Internet of Things (IoT), announced that it is collaborating with Wirepas to deliver IOT networks, leveraging its Bluetooth BlueMod+S42 platform. This platform is the first to embed the Wirepas Connectivity technology, a decentralized radio communications protocol that eliminates the need for traditional repeaters.  This enables wireless devices to act as smart routers in the network.
