ARRIS, CableLabs, Cisco, Electrolux, GE Digital, Intel, Microsoft, Qualcomm, and Samsung announced they will unify as the Open Connectivity Foundation (OCF), an entity whose goal will be to help unify IoT standards so that companies and developers can create IoT solutions and devices that work more seamlessly together. Via cross-industry collaboration, the OCF will work towards helping developers and companies create solutions that map to a single, open IoT interoperability specification.

AT&T and Schneider Electric have developed a proof of concept solution that helps enable facility managers and drivers to access data from Electric Vehicle Charging (EVC) systems. This will help to enable more intelligent load distribution and more effective energy access management. The proof of concept uses AT&T Internet of Things (IoT) solutions to wirelessly connect Schneider Electric's EVlink charging stations to a cloud platform that can integrate with back-end systems.

At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, GE announced that the company opened its Predix platform to everyone through its GE Digital Alliance Program, the company's first ever program dedicated to growing the digital industrial ecosystem. This new alliance program is designed to connect systems integrators, telecommunications service providers, independent software vendors, technology providers, and resellers with GE's technology and digital industrial expertise.

Yokogawa Electric Corporation announced that it has concluded an agreement with Statoil ASA, a Norwegian energy company, to jointly develop a field wireless system. Under this agreement, Statoil and Yokogawa will draw on their respective strengths in plant operations and ISA100 Wireless field wireless technology to develop a system that can map noise levels in real-time at Statoil's plants and upstream (exploration and production) facilities, as part of this company's Wireless Noise Surveillance Project (WiNoS).
