PTC announced the release of the latest version of its Creo 4.0 3D CAD software. Creo 4.0 introduces new capabilities for Internet of Things (IoT), additive manufacturing, augmented reality, and model-based definition (MBD). Creo 4.0 reportedly enables smarter design and greater productivity with a vast array of core modeling enhancements and new functionality that allow designers to create the products of the future.
At its Minds + Machines event in San Francisco, GE Digital announced new products, acquisitions and partner programs to enable further adoption of Predix, the operating system for the Industrial Internet. The platform enhancements, acquisitions and new ISV partner program further complement the Predix technology stack and reportedly make it easier for industrial companies to execute a strategic digital transformation to drive internal productivity. IBM unveiled the experimental release of Project Intu, a new, system-agnostic platform designed to enable embodied cognition. The new platform allows developers to embed Watson functions into various end-user device form factors, offering a next generation architecture for building cognitive-enabled experiences.
Project Intu, in its experimental form, is now accessible via the Watson Developer Cloud and also available on Intu Gateway and GitHub.
Panduit Corp. introduces its SynapSense Wireless Environmental Monitoring System, which is a lower-cost, easier-to-deploy solution to gather, communicate and visualize environmental data within the facility to help to improve reliability, product quality and energy optimization. Wireless mesh sensing technology delivers more granular temperature, humidity and differential air pressure data to the IoT application at a reduced time and cost of wired solutions.
Schlumberger announced the launch of OpenPath Sequence diversion stimulation service. The new service sequentially diverts acid into additional clusters, or zones, to maximize wellbore coverage, resulting in more precise treatment placement and greater production when compared with conventional methods per the company.

With its Scalance XC-200 product line, Siemens is bringing a new generation of compact Industrial Ethernet switches to the market. Users can set up electrical and optical line, star and ring structures in industrial networks. The layer 2 network components can be integrated into both Profinet and EtherNet/IP diagnostics. The switches are characterized by their high number of ports and connections, a robust housing, an extended temperature range of -40 to +70°C, as well as approval for hazardous areas (ATEX Zone 2, IECEx).
Rockwell Automation announced the latest release of its FactoryTalk Batch software. The new software, targeted at industrial producers with batch applications, is designed to help enhance scalability and responsive control of distributed, skid-level phases with plant-level coordination, while delivering an enhanced user experience with built-in mobility.

Wind turbine maker Gamesa has won orders to supply a total of 304 MW at five wind farms in India, strengthening its market position. Gamesa will supply, install and commission the turbines, as well as handle the operations and maintenance services at all of the facilities. Moreover, at four of the complexes, the company will take charge of construction.
