Rockwell Automation announced the latest release of its FactoryTalk Batch software. The new software, targeted at industrial producers with batch applications, is designed to help enhance scalability and responsive control of distributed, skid-level phases with plant-level coordination, while delivering an enhanced user experience with built-in mobility.

Integration of this new software with Rockwell Automation's SequenceManager solution helps to enable batch sequencing to occur at either the controller or server level. This allows machine builders to develop and deliver tested skids that end users can integrate into their batch process while helping to reduce the validation and commissioning effort. It also helps to minimize the rework required when manufacturers with small, controller-based batch systems expand to larger, server-based batch systems.

The software's new mobile support can help to create more intuitive workflows, reduce procedural steps and increase collaboration.  Mobile devices enable users not located in control rooms or using fixed terminals to access real-time information, interact with processes, and secure approvals from remote locations. An updated web interface also helps to reduce the number of clicks required to access information.
