GE announced the expansion of its digital presence in Europe and the launch of new products, partnerships and initiatives designed to help foster growth of the digital industrial ecosystem across Europe. The company announced the opening of a new digital office in Paris, a Digital Foundry, which will serve as its hub of this ecosystem.

Siemens' product lifecycle management (PLM) business launched its new Simcenter portfolio, a robust suite of simulation software and test solutions that help companies address the modern engineering challenges of today's complex products. Simcenter combines simulation and physical testing with intelligent reporting and data analytics to help produce digital twins that more accurately predict product performance throughout all stages of the product development process. As a result, engineering organizations can confidently deliver innovations faster and with less cost.

A cross-industry project led by the international certification body and classification society DNV GL to halt the boom in subsea documentation, shows that implementing a standardized approach can significantly reduce engineering hours.  The two-year collaboration led by DNV GL has concluded in a publicly available Recommended Practice, which can reduce the amount of subsea documentation and enable documentation reuse in a typical subsea field development project.

Rockwell Automation has expanded the Global Short-Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) Selection Tool to include new options for motor-control components.

Rockwell Automation released the latest version of its FactoryTalk AssetCentre v7.0 software, which is designed to automate discovery and track the status of devices, network switches and software on workstation computers across facilities and production operations. The software reportedly streamlines life-cycle management and helps to decrease unplanned downtime. Manufacturers and industrial producers  can use this software as a tool to help manage automation assets and gain additional insight into their operations through connected technology.

Infor announced Infor M3 Analytics, version 11.0, which delivers business intelligence to improve management information and assist decision-making. Infor M3 Analytics is for M3 users and utilizes the common Infor Business Intelligence (BI) technology stack that creates access to a larger pool of skilled resources to support BI projects as well as delivering new functionality.

IBM announced the first cloud-based development environment for near real-time, high performance analytics, giving data scientists the ability to access and ingest data, and deliver insight-driven models to developers. Available on the IBM Cloud Bluemix platform, the Data Science Experience provides 250 curated data sets, open source tools, and a collaborative workspace to help data scientists uncover and share meaningful insights with developers, making it easier to rapidly develop applications that are infused with intelligence.
