Hitachi Insight Group Formed to Accelerate Hitachi's Global Internet of Things Business

PTC announced the availability of ThingWorx 7, the latest version of its Internet of Things (IoT) platform. New features of ThingWorx 7 include an enhanced set of tools for managing connected products, powerful new analytics capabilities, support of public clouds, and simplified platform components that make it easier for developers to use their preferred tools to experiment with, prototype, and develop new IoT solutions.

Emerson has enhanced the software for its Fisher FIELDVUE DVC6200 series digital valve controllers, which are now available for use by process industries with PLCs and PROFIBUS communications as the dominant protocol. The FIELDVUE DVC6200p digital valve controller with Device Type Manager (DTM) software supports control valve startup, commissioning, and diagnostic activities. It has also been tested and integrated for use with multiple Field Device Tool (FDT) host systems.

PAS, Inc., a leading solution provider of cybersecurity, process safety, and asset reliability in the energy, power, and process industries, released the latest version of its PlantState Suite (PSS) software, which according to PAS, features the industry's first operational risk dashboard. The new PSS mobile-friendly dashboard provides plant managers and operators with centralized alarm system, control loop, boundary, and other operational analytics for improved situation awareness, plant safety, and profitability.

Honeywell Process Solutions (HPS) announced it has established a new business unit to help manufacturers harness the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and more rapidly deploy technologies that will allow them to better manage and analyze data, making their operations safer, more reliable and more efficient. Andrew Hird has been named vice president and general manager of Honeywell's new Digital Transformation unit.
