Siemens is extending the Sitrans P family of its pressure transmitter portfolio. By adding the newly developed Sitrans P310 and P410 to the Basic and Advanced segments and the Sitrans P500 in the Premium segment, Siemens is now able to offer the right device class to address every conceivable measurement requirement. Hitachi, Ltd. announced that it began sales of a new type of water-leakage management system for use in emerging countries, including those in Southeast Asia. The system utilizes information technology to estimate areas with large amount of leakage in water pipe networks, thereby streamlining water leak management operations. Hitachi plans to extend sales of the system as a key product in its water environment solutions business, and to further strengthen and extend its global development.
The Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) announced immediate release of the Industrial Internet Reference Architecture. This document provides a common language for the elements of Industrial Internet systems and the relationships between them. This common language helps developers decide which elements they need for their systems, enabling faster delivery of implementations. With Assetguard MVC, Siemens has developed a new monitoring system for circuit-breakers in medium-voltage switchgear. The system monitors, in particular, the operability of the medium-voltage switchgear, which is often exposed to harsh ambient conditions and yet rarely trips. Over the years, the mechanical components can become dirty and fail to work in the worst case scenario. The monitoring system checks the reliability of the triggering system, the effectiveness of the closed circuit, and the condition of the primary contacts.
