Advantech, a global provider of edge computing solutions, announced a joint effort with Qualcomm Technologies and the recently acquired Edge Impulse to accelerate the deployment of next-generation edge AI applications centered around the Qualcomm Dragonwing IQ-9075 processor.
The processor is engineered for industrial durability and a product lifespan of over 10 years, targeting long-term use in demanding environments. The architecture facilitates advanced edge AI functions, including large language models (LLMs) and vision-language models (VLMs), multi-camera vision processing, and real-time machine inference. To promote development, Advantech will offer preloaded solutions on the Edge Impulse developer platform, available in various packages that range from prototyping to full enterprise deployment.
The Advantech AIR-055 edge system, driven by the Dragonwing IQ-9075 processor, offers up to 100 TOPS of processing power, provides standard connectivity options including USB, RJ45, HDMI, and M.2, and supports 4K resolution. The AIR-055 is suitable for applications in smart manufacturing, intelligent transportation systems, retail, public safety, robotics, and mobile robotics.
The Advantech AFE-A503 robotic controller is specifically designed for outdoor AMRs and delivery robots. The product also includes the Advantech Robotic Suite, which is pre-built with ROS2, an AI acceleration SDK, and sensor node integration to speed deployment.
