ARC’s European Industry Forum is part of our successful series of worldwide conferences in Europe, America and Asia. The next European Forum will be held in Sitges (Barcelona), Spain on May 15 - 17, 2023 and focus on “Managing Industry Evolution in Times of Global Disruption”. Participants are invited to attend exclusive presentations and workshops on strategies and case studies from the digital front lines.

ARC industry analysts and other experts from the end user and supplier communities will analyze and discuss trends and drivers for hot industry topics, such as:

Artificial Intelligence and its Future Role in Automation

This workshop invites industry experts to discuss the emerging role of artificial intelligence (AI) in control systems, including its applications, benefits, limitations and requirements.

Today, AI is characterized by some players over-promising results while others are overly skeptical. To make an accurate assessment of the future potential of AI in automation, we need to consider multiple perspectives. To do this, ARC has invited a panel of end users, technology providers and machine builders to discuss the current state of AI technology and its growing role in automation. Aspects to be discussed are:

  • What are the goals of AI in control systems?
  • AI perspective: What is possible, what computing resources are required, and where are the limitations?
  • Platform perspective: How can edge and cloud platforms be leveraged for AI?
  • Automation perspective: How can we ensure that AI doesn’t interfere with manufacturing processes?
  • User/OEM perspective: How easy is it to maintain AI?
  •  What will the relationship between AI and automation look like in 10 years?
