AVEVA and IFS announced a technology partnership to connect operational intelligence, enterprise execution, and strategic capital planning for asset-intensive industrial organizations.

AVEVA and IFS announced a technology partnership to help complex industrial organizations better connect operational intelligence, enterprise execution, and strategic capital planning. The first phase of the collaboration focuses on Continuous Asset Decision Intelligence, a new solution designed to help turn real-time operational and asset data into maintenance, investment, and execution decisions across the integrated asset lifecycle.
The partnership helps to address a common challenge across industrial organizations: live operational data often sits with operations teams, while maintenance history, outage plans, spares, crew capacity, and investment priorities are often managed elsewhere. This separation can make it difficult to gain a complete view of an asset or portfolio, slowing the move from insight to action.
For example, a reliability engineer may identify an anomaly, but a maintenance planner may only have partial information to determine whether a fix is already in the work plan, whether the asset has failed in the same way before, whether similar failures are likely at other sites, or whether the organization should repair, defer, or replace the asset. The AVEVA-IFS partnership is designed to bring these decisions into one connected flow, with operational data and AI-enriched insight available to participants across the value chain.
“What makes this AVEVA–IFS partnership compelling is that it closes the distance between insight and action. By connecting real-time operational intelligence with enterprise execution and strategic capital planning, ‘Continuous Asset Decision Intelligence’ turns often thousands of data points into a single, evidence-based decision flow—so teams can decide what work to do, when to do it, and whether to repair, defer, or replace with greater speed and confidence. Just as importantly, it creates an auditable chain from asset condition to decision to outcome, which is increasingly critical for boards, investors, and regulators.”

The joint solution connects three layers in a single architecture: operational intelligence, engineering intelligence, and strategic capital planning. For example, a utility operating hundreds of substations, an emerging transformer issue at one substation can become a portfolio-level decision rather than a local issue. Rising temperature alarms and abnormal dissolved gas readings, for instance, can be detected and addressed through decision workflows that bring together maintenance history, criticality, spares, crew availability, outage plans, and capital program context.
This approach can help stakeholders better prioritize the required work, compare repair, defer, and replace options against fleet-wide precedent, schedule the appropriate personnel and parts, and retain an evidence trail from the initial issue through remediation.
Measurable Outcomes
Through the partnership, AVEVA and IFS aim to help support the following outcomes:
Capital Efficiency: Operational and asset-health insights can support risk-ranked investment decisions, helping teams to direct capital to work that advances reliability, safety, and business objectives.
Reliability: Real-time characterization of asset reliability issues can help prioritize work instructions and optimize crew dispatch. Detection-to-response lag may be reduced from, for example, days or weeks to hours, while dynamic maintenance strategies can support a shift away from purely calendar-based schedules.
Regulatory and Investment Confidence: A continuous, auditable evidence chain, from asset condition to investment decisions and measurable performance outcomes, helpsto support reporting needs for regulators, boards, and investors.
IT/OT Simplification: A platform-to-platform architecture can help to reduce reliance on custom point-to-point integrations, lowering integration complexity and accelerating time to value.
The partnership brings together AVEVA’s industrial software capabilities and IFS’ AI-powered enterprise software for asset-intensive industries. By connecting real-time operational and asset data with enterprise execution and strategic capital planning, the collaboration is intended to help support timelier, evidence-based decisions across the asset lifecycle.
