General Electric announced its Gas Power business has completed the acquisition of Nexus Controls from Baker Hughes. With the addition of this aftermarket control system upgrade and field service capability, GE Gas Power, part of GE Vernova, will create a single, full-service controls business line responsible for further Full-Service Controls Businessdeveloping GE’s proprietary Mark Vle controls systems platform, the implementation of the OnCore system, as well as streamlining and improving the delivery and service of its controls offerings for customers.

Customers will benefit from end-to-end support including consistency and efficiency across both new and serviced units, as well as a comprehensive lifecycle strategy to support their fleet’s controls needs. As part of the controls business line, GE will continue to invest in its Mark VIe controls product line as well as other systems and related products.

Harry Forbes, ARC Advisory Group, commented, “The OnCore control system and its mainly Asian installed base is a better fit within GE than within Baker Hughes, although I expect it to continue to be used in the types of turbine/compressor applications which Baker Hughes delivers.”
